What It’s Like to Live in Sloan’s Lake

A quiet gem nestled on a tree-lined street conveniently located just west of the heart of Denver, the Sloan’s Lake neighborhood offers assisted living residents the best of both worlds. Close enough to downtown to enjoy all it has to offer yet far enough to escape the frenzy of the big city and enjoy a quiet evening at home.

Rich with history and a blend of diverse people and backgrounds, this highly sought-after neighborhood has beautiful scenery, a vibrant culture and a business community that is diverse, accessible, historic and walkable.

Our community is just a short walk to beautiful Sloan’s Lake Park. At 177 acres, it is the second largest park in Denver and boasts stunning views of the Denver skyline and the majestic Rocky Mountains. According to locals, Sloan’s Lake Park is one of the best parks for catching the sunset.

This urban oasis was created accidentally in 1861 when Thomas M. Sloan tapped into a water aquifer while digging a well to irrigate his farmland. Overnight, a 200-acre lake formed and quickly became a popular recreation area for locals and visitors alike.

Things to Do in Sloan’s Lake

Regarded as one of the best places to live in Colorado, this neighborhood’s mix of urban and suburban vibes offers activities and events suited for an eclectic palate. Visit the famed annual Colorado Dragon Boat Festival where you can watch a dragon boat race, try delicious Asian cuisine, or watch a traditional lion dance.

Enjoy a day at one of Denver’s many museums such as Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, the Denver Art Museum, or the Museum of Nature & Science.
